At first glance the user sees all the good press that companies like Google, Amazon and Facebook are getting. Then once the user hovers an iPad over the article headlines it then reveals another article with contradictory information. This store was very inspired by Mexican culture, values and traditions. More specifically, Dia de Los Muertos and the importance of family. The goal was that it would have the essence of a home away from home. This was a research project that I authored the content for this 60 page book. The book emphasized these three designers and their unique career paths where each designer continued to grow but yet continue to design for specific bands throughout their careers. Local designers and artists were picked to design a chair inspired by stories from women all over the community. My team was given a story about a Polish grandmother that came to America with nothing, but hope. She was passionate about giving back to the community and had a huge garden that fed her family and neighbors. My design, concept, and color scheme was chosen out of everyone’s on the team. In turn, everyone else was able to provide more assets to add to the pattern. I cut down the pieces of installation board to 4ft x 6ft. Then spent several days and long nights painting them blue. After that I decided to laser cut some display signage for the title and call to action of the project. During quarantine a team of 16 designers and I were able to create promotional assets of various mediums. The teams were divided into print, web and motion. Our goal was to create materials inspired by 25 poems we were given to celebrate InsideOut’s 25th Anniversary. Not only did we do that, but each designer also created their own typeface inspired by Detroit to contribute for this project as a symbol of all the unique personalities being showcased.
